Ceramic veneer is an esthetic restorative technique, which allows simple and  painless improvement of color or shape of the teeth, as well as the whole dental arches.  Thin, porcelain plates fixed with an adhesive on the surface of the patient’s teeth, allow to solve embarrassing problems associated with discolorations, malformations, or numerous visible fillings in the front teeth, as well as too wide and uneven spaces between the teeth.

The method of teeth preparation before porcelain veneer placement is based on a non-invasive technique.  The complex procedure of porcelain veneer fitting is performed under local anesthesia and is practically painless for the patient.  In most cases, it is carried out during two visits at the dental clinic.  During the first visit, the group of teeth selected for veneer bonding is prepared, i.e. the tooth enamel is ground away.  For this purpose, special dental burs with diamond coating 0.2 mm in diameter are used in our clinic.  They are applied to prepare a so-called bed for the porcelain veneer.  During the same visit, the tooth surface is secured after the preparation procedure, a precise impression is taken and the porcelain color selected. Then, the impression accompanied by a complete specification is forwarded to the dental laboratory where the veneers are fabricated by technicians. During the second dental appointment, the veneers are mounted on the tooth surface with special composite cements to achieve the optimal esthetic effect.

Porcelain veneers are characterized by excellent longevity. They guarantee esthetic appearance of the teeth for ca. 8 – 10 years.

This type of procedures is contraindicated in patients with no habits of strict hygiene of the oral cavity, failing to use floss the spaces between the teeth and to visit the dentist regularly.
